Tell me if you heard this Polish joke before? Poland’s Olympic swimming federation sent too many swimmers to Tokyo and had to send 6 swimmers home before they even got to the opening ceremonies. Even Hollywood directors wouldn’t take this on as a script because it’s too far fetched and too low hanging of fruit. But unfortunately 6 Olympic hopefuls had to pack their stuff and go home because the people in charge for their country didn’t know the rules. And boy are they not happy.
In what would have been her 3rd Olympic Games Polish swimmer Alicja Tchorz said .. “Imagine dedicating 5 years of your life and striving for another start at the most important sporting event … giving up your private life and work, sacrificing your family etc.,” in a Facebook post. She said that after all her training and dedication it resulted in a “total flop” and it was “because of the incompetence of third parties”.
Tchorz and the 5 other Olympic hopefuls all signed a statement demanding the president of the Polish Swimming Federation, Paweł Słomiński, resign immediately. And Slominski has expressed his regret over the situation while also putting part of the blame on his nations Olympic committee, the international federation and of course Corona. He was also quoted as saying he hoped “to allow as many players and coaches as possible to take part” in the Olympics. He might as well of sent any body over to Tokyo who’s put on swimmies before and hoped for the best.
