The Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood Casino and Hotel has launched their online sportsbook app and it is awesome.
I downloaded it for research purposes (of course) and have messed around a bit to get a better feel.
As a guy who has used Bovada and other sites to place my bets, this seems to be a much more user-friendly app and has all sorts of crazy sports/events. Want to be on the KHL at midnight? Go for it!
And the best part, with low minimum wagers, you can place those crazy 10-team parlays that you would not usually place when dealing with a $25 minimum bet! Pick every underdog for the weekend on a $1 parlay, hell yeah! Have a sneaking suspicion about a crazy underdog, go ahead and place $5 on it.
On top of that, they do offer all of the same promotions that the others do like “Bet $25+ on NBA Parlay Get A $10 Free Bet”, “Deposit and Bet Risk Free Up To $100”, “Odds Boosts”, and the best “Parlay Your Way to a $1,000 Free Bet”.
Plus, you can pay straight from PayPal, your bank, or a card so you no longer have to convert to a different currency before depositing, like I had to do with Bovada.
Unfortunately, groups like West Flagler Associates and Bonita-Fort Myers Corp are fighting this new agreement with the Seminole Tribe, claiming that it gives the Tribe a Florida sports gaming monopoly. Their goal is to toss out the compact and craft a new one that doesn’t limit the sports betting to only the Tribe.
While I understand that they want a piece of the action, it is already estimated that Florida residents are spending $7 million annually on sports gaming and online apps. So why not let us have this one, legally, while you work out your new deal? I would much rather use a known casino than the bookie who I met through a friend-of-a-friend.
Politicians in Tallahassee, let the Floridians bet on sports!
